At Pat’s Auto Repair & Towing, our story is rooted in hard work, resilience, and a deep connection to the Hastings, NE community. What started as a small operation decades ago has grown into a trusted, full-service auto repair and towing facility, but we’ve never lost sight of where we came from.

The business began with a passion for hands-on work and a determination to build something meaningful. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, our founder Pat O'Flannagan (and current owner, Kara Tharp’s father) started working out of a home garage, focusing on welding projects and helping neighbors with their vehicle needs. As demand grew, so did the vision. In March of 1983, the shop moved into its current Hastings location and officially became Pat’s Auto Repair & Welding. Not long after, towing services were added, expanding the business into what is now known as Pat’s Auto Repair & Towing.
Over the years, the shop has faced its share of challenges. One of the most difficult moments came in 1999, when a devastating fire caused the facility's total loss. But giving up was never an option. With determination and community support, the shop was rebuilt and back in operation in just 90 days. That same period marked the beginning of the next chapter, as the second generation stepped in to help carry the business forward.
Today, Pat’s Auto Repair & Towing is proudly a second-generation, family-owned-and-operated shop. After Kara’s dad passed away in 2014, leadership transitioned to Kara to continue his legacy. She now leads the shop, bringing the same dedication, honesty, and strong work ethic that the community has come to know and appreciate.
